THE EXPERIENCE:
A DAY IN THE LIFE
FAMILY STYLE
Sweet improptu “I love you’s” whispered in your ear, contagious giggles, butterfly kisses, fresh flowers bouquets picked by chubby little hands, fingerprints on the windows, playdough in her hair, bubble baths, snuggle time in Mama’s rocking chair … these are the in-between moments of life with small children that we often rush past as we hurry onto our next destination, but when our sweet little ones have have grown and gone these will be the precious moments we will wish we could have held onto just a little longer.
Often, clients are initially nervous about the idea of having a photographer in their home for a few hours. “What would we do the whole time?” you may wonder. Allow me to put your mind at ease.
When you book a Day-in-the-Life session with me, I am with you every step of the way. We will work together to determine what aspect of your “life-in-the-in-between” you most want to preserve. Once you are officially booked, I will send you a questionnaire so I can learn about each family member’s personality and how he or she affects your family dynamic.
Next, we will have a pre-session consultation where we will talk about activities your family loves to do on a regular basis (making pancakes on Saturday morning, bubble baths, playing boardgames, princess tea parties, superhero adventures, Baking a cake for a special occasion, hiking, etc.) as well as the sweet little personality traits that you love most about each of your children, which will help me to know what to watch for during your session so I can capture those sweet moments for you as they unfold. Then, we will pick a location for your session (at home or away) where we are most likely to capture these moments you hold so dear. Finally I will answer any questions you may have about what to wear, time of day, and smaller details of the day.
These sessions can be anywhere from 2- 3 hours. The beauty in these long sessions is that it gives us plenty of time for you and your family to get comfortable with me and with there being a camera in your home. My goal is that by the end of the day, we will feel like old friends and that your kids will have forgotten that I am even there.
If capturing real, candid moments in your young family’s life sounds like your cup of tea, contact me for more info or to book your session!
